Organic forage and cereals on the banks of the Tiber
The Ponzano Romano plant is located just 50 km from the historic centre of Rome, and surrounded by the fertile fields of the Tiber Valley. Here organic cereals such as wheat, corn and sunflower are grown alternately with alfalfa.
The plant is well-connected to the major road arteries of central and southern Italy, thanks to its location near the Autostrada del Sole.
The Gruppo Carli companies operating on the site process approximately 40,000 tonnes of fodder every year, mainly alfalfa and hay, in the form of bales and pellets.
With an area of over 67,000 square metres, Ponzano Romano is one of the largest forage processing plants in central Italy. A production line for Fiammetto, Gruppo Carli brand of wood pellets for heating use, diversifies the offer of the plant.
