Product informations
It is a complete feed for dairy cows to be used during the dry period. The fibres have been selected mainly from grasses; they come from areas with a low potassium content with the aim of controlling the Anion-Cation Balance (D-CAD), the reference principle for the correct management of calcium metabolism during the delicate phase at the end of gestation, supplementing
for this purpose with a moderate inclusion of anionic salts.
Preference is given to using sugars rather than starches as an energy source, thus better supporting the activity of cellulosol bacteria.
Particular attention is paid to the size of the fibre, the size of which must represent the best compromise: long enough to induce the necessary ruminoactivity but short enough to counteract the natural tendency of the animals to select the feed offered in search of the concentrated fraction.
Instructions for use
Carli unifeed is a complete feed as it is capable, with ad libitum feeding, of meeting all the animals’ needs during most of this phase.
It should be fed at will, if possible putting the bale directly into the trough if the product is purchased in this form. A voluntary daily intake at this stage can be expected to range from a maximum of 15-16 kg for larger animals and away from calving to a minimum of 10-12 kg for primiparae and generally smaller animals and in the days immediately
preceding calving.
During the last two weeks prior to parturition, under the guidance of a trusted technician, we recommend supplementing the diet with a food supplement capable of providing the animals with a higher proportion of nutrients (starches and proteins), commensurate with the criticality of this delicate phase.
