Product informations
Carli Piatto Unico is a mix of forage chaff and mainly grain concentrates (Gramineae: Phleum pratense, Lolium italicum, Lolium perenne, Poa pratensis, Dactylis glomerata, Bromus inermis, Bromus catharticus, Festuca rubra, Triticum spp, Hordeum vulgare, Zea mais, Sorghum vulgare;Leguminosae: Medicago sativa; Fabaceae: Ceratonia siliqua) selected, dried, chopped in order to be easily supplied to a feeder.
Unifeed is an ideal feed easy to handle for the maintenance diet of horses thanks to:
- protein and cellulose content.
- proper balanced supply of calcium, phosphorus and magnesium.
- low starch levels.
- moderate caloric content.
It retains the typical fragrancy and colour of recently harvested forage.
Instructions for use
Piatto Unico’s’s main application is in the diet of horses and other equids when the use of feeders is preferred.
It is particularly suited to horses during travel (e.g. for eventing or competitions) or other transportation as the product is easy to store thanks to its small-sized packaging.
Its high cellulose content ensures a healthier microbial population of the equine hindgut and the overall well-being of the digestive tract.
Piatto Unico is very appreciated by horses and can be used as a medium (carrier) for powder or liquid supplements or drugs.
As a sole feed in a horse’s maintenance diet, the recommended amount of Unifeed is kg 2-3 per kg 100 of bodyweight (i.e. kg 10-15 for a kg 500 horse).
One pallet of Piatto Unico provides the feeding of a kg 500 horse over a period of 10-15 weeks.
In order to provide additional protein and energy intake we recommend to supplement Unifeed with Carli Alfafuel and/or Carli Wafer and/or to supply quality lipidic/starchy concentrates.
We also recommend providing horses a free access to regular supply of clean fresh water and plain white table salt.
When supplementing the diet of horses with vitamin and mineral complexes, prebiotics, probiotics and other nutritional supplements, an expert veterinary nutritionist should be always consulted.
